My Granny Went to Market

Blue House

Candy Shop

Homemade Tortillas

Our daughter and son-in-law were vacationing in Puerto Vallarta and sent some photos. I thought the blue building was very cool for Blue Monday. To join this meme and see more photos, visit Smiling Sally. It is very common to see brightly colored structures south of the border, along with a potted Geranium.

There is a little bit of blue sprinkled in with mostly yellow colored candy wrappers and papayas, abundantly displayed at the local market. I love this photo. Of course, this charming shop owner, along with the yellow taxi cab is my entry for Mellow Yellow Monday.

There is such a charm about visiting a foreign country. I get excited just to get out and take an hour long drive now and then, to visit new surroundings.  Of course, it always sounds like the people are speaking rapidly in their language. I speak a little Spanish, very slowly. How about you? Awh, the sights and sounds of Mexico!

If you've noticed, I am experimenting this week with watermark placement on my photos. Not sure that I like it or if it's even necessary for that matter. Does anyone have an opinion on this subject? I guess if someone wants to re-use your photo, it would take a little time but they could remove and crop things out for their advantage. It's not like I'm saying that I'm a professional photographer and need to worry about copy writing! lol

  1. That Blue Monday label is so tiny, I can hardly recognize it!

    I love your blue!

Happy Blue Monday. Be sure to check out my book giveaway.

  2. We used to have a game with our toe, where they were different family members and each was going to the market. At least the granny did it the right way.

  3. Delightful! Love those papaya.

Please come by when you get a chance and see my BLUE, have a great week.

  4. Love the blue building and the shop too.
I agree with you. I don't bother to put a watermark on my photos most of the time as I'm not a professional photographer. But also I don't put photos of family members because anyone can copy and paste them for their own purposes. I've actually heard of that being done by scammers on dating sites. No thanks!
As for all my other photos, now and then I do put a watermark but not a large one. Some people put a watermark through the centre of their photos so that they can't be cropped. Personally I find it detracts from the enjoyment of the photos.

    1. I agree. I enjoyed reading your comments. Thanks so much!

  5. I thought your granny really did go to the market. I haven’t seen any learning resource like these before, and they look very interesting! When my kids find out about this, they’ll definitely ask me to buy one. You know, they’re the I-love-my-grandparents type of kids. ;)
