There's this cute little song from Gospel Light that I will be sharing with the Kindergarten age kids at Sunday School. I wanted to bring in the triangle when the children say aloud the hours by number.
God Made (Acts 17:24)
G D G
God made the world And everything in it.
D G
God made the world And everything in it.
Hear the chime?
What's the time?
Count the hours with me!
One, two, three,... (repeat)
D G
ev'ry-thing in it.
Singing The Melody
The melody line is sung in the Key of G and I've written the single melody notes out in the r.h.
These are not chords!
B G G A D D D A B G
God made the world And everything in it.
B G G D D D D A B G
God made the world And everything in it.
Hear the chime?
What's the time?
Count the hours with me!
GBD (chord)
One, two, three,... (repeat)
D D A B G
ev'ry-thing in it.

The Triangle
The triangle is an idiophone type of musical instrument in the percussion family. It is a bar of metal, usually steel but sometimes other metals like beryllium copper, bent into a triangle
shape. The instrument is usually held by a loop of some form of thread
or wire at the top curve. It was first made around the 16th century. For more information, visit http://en.wikipedia.org
Chicago
This song about time reminds me of two adult type songs that rose to huge popularity in the 80s. Of course, there's great songs about time not only for kids but grownups, too.
I love the band Chicago and I'm especially fond of, "Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is?" If you're interested in playing the song for your own enjoyment, you can find the chords at http://tabs.ultimate-guitar.com
Cyndi Lauper
One of my high school students awhile back wanted to play a very popular song, Time After Time. I posted the chords to the song and a video of me playing, http://ladydpiano.blogspot.com
Children's Books About Time
This is Children's Book Week! I'm working with our 6 year old grandson who is learning to tell time. Here's a few book choices.
