Costa Rica Banana Hammock

Summer days have been wonderful with our grandson resting comfortably on this colorful hammock. Our daughter brought it back from her trip to Costa Rica. We enjoy this beautiful gift every summer.

Corn and Green Beans for the Picking

Everything is happening all at once in our garden and the produce is ripe for the picking. I'm just getting ready to can our green pole beans. We've already been sampling some of our corn but here's an earlier photo of our grandson Ryan in a small corn patch with his blue hat on.

Photos for Blue Monday and yes, those are Kentucky Wonder green beans!

Each one of the sprouted vines from the main sweet potato are now broken off and are re-rooting in a shallow dish of water. When the roots are longer, they will be placed in prepared soil to grow much bigger. Later on, one can see purple flowers all over the vines growing everywhere.

So, we started growing more and more sweet potato slips for the garden in my pretty orange kitchen and oh, my goodness... those vines sure took off in the soil beds! Here is the same photo edited with a texture and color boost for Mandarin Orange Monday

Quilts and Editing

The photo of the quilt was edited by inverting the colors. So here we have Tinker Bell in blue. This is a bit different and not my favorite but you get the idea that you can reverse the colors. The original fabric is purple. Photo for Blue Monday.

Hear The Tune

Hopefully, all the little fairies have danced with the moonlight before the 'rising sun' quilt appears!

I had lots of flannel pieces of fabric saved. These little remnants were perfect for doll blankets .

Here is the original Tinker Bell Quilt. Her wings are a slight turquoise blue. I put a saw-tooth border around the edge so that the pointed triangles would go with the fairy wings.

The Tinker Bell quilt now has a new look in reddish-orange, with a weave added for texture.
Mandarin Orange Monday

Now my grandsons would like a music quilt. I think the shades of rust and gray look nice together.

Have you made a quilt before or own a few? I have made so many over the years and have given them to my children and grandchildren. Each one tells a story and I like that.

Copter and Boat Ride

Throughout the Legoland Adventure Park it was easy to spot primary colors. There were so many fun rides to go on and we especially enjoyed the 'helicopter' and 'pirate ship' immensely. My photo sharing is for two wonderful memes, Blue Monday and Mandarin Orange Monday.

You'll find children's pirate music on iTunes and I must say, I think my grandson looks fabulous and could easily fit in with a crew of swashbuckling buccaneers! What do you think?

Dino Island

My husband and I decided to treat our 5 year old grandson (and ourselves) to a trip to Carlsbad, California at Legoland... Wow, what an amusement park!! Have you been there? Well, we pretty much spent the entire day visiting the different 'land themes' and going on most of the rides. Yes, it's tons of fun and a dream come true for Ryan graduating from Preschool and heading to Kindergarten this Fall. One thing for sure, it's very pricey. I'm not sure how young families can afford it, but if you plan for it and save your money all year long, the park has great rewards for summer fun and family memories.

My photos are for Blue Monday and since I took a whole bunch of pictures, I'd like to share some with you over the next few weeks... and if you're looking for some dinosaur books, here's a few in our library that we enjoy reading together.
