Kindergarten Music: Little Bunny Foo Foo

While living on 2 1/2 acres in a rural location, I'm always amazed at seeing these fuzzy animals, the cottontail bunny around here. Their destination is always running towards a bush or under a log. Nothing frightens them more than the sound of my grand children's voices. They sleep nearby and I've spotted them in the wee early morning hours or at dusk before the coyotes come out at night. Here's a photo of one of our local bunnies.

About The Song

Little Bunny Foo Foo is a children's poem, involving a rabbit harassing a population of field mice. The rabbit is scolded and eventually punished by a fairy. Like many traditional folk songs, there are multiple versions with differing variations. It is also known under the alternative name Little Rabbit Foo Foo; "Foo Foo" is sometimes spelled as "Fu Fu". The poem is sung to the tune of Down By The Station (1948), and melodically similar to the popular French Canadian children's song Alouette (1879).

Clarice the Easter Chick

It's always fun to take an illustrator's image like this little baby chick from Elizabeth O. Dulemba and change things around a bit in PhotoShop. I added a paint brush on the chick's right wing and then created textures of color blotches. My goal was to create Clarice painting herself with food coloring for Easter. What do you think? I hope you have wonderful memories with your kids coloring eggs this Easter season. What designs and colors will you use?

No Foolin', I Found One

Looking for eggs in the backyard is so much fun, especially when you're 2! Photo for Blue Monday

I was researching online for all of the deviled egg recipes and came across Shrimp, Italian, Cajun and Mother-In-Law deviled egg recipes, oh my!

What did you cook for your family celebration? Perhaps you went out for dinner over at friends or family members. We had lamb and here's my recipe. Celebrating 5!

Oh, how they grow... grandchildren that is and garden plants, too. One of my grandson's turned five and Ryan was so pleased to have his very own sleeping bag, to celebrate many indoor/outdoor adventures to come! His favorite color is green. Linking to Color Connection

Spring has arrived in SoCal and our garden soil is all prepared and ready for planting. So far we've purchased lots of seeds and a few starter plants like Basil and Parsley. Will you be growing a vegetable garden this year? I wanted to share this comprehensive article with you for vegetable gardening. Very informative!

I've filled 5 Easter baskets for the grandchildren and I'm really excited for the weekend festivities. They'll have bubbles and silly string, jewelry and books. Of course, I'll add pretzels and crackers, maybe a little candy, too! Do you have a favorite Easter tradition?
