Bicycles By The Pier

I was thinking of the lyrics to this popular song when I came upon these bikes at the Oceanside Pier...

"I don't care how you get here,  get here if you can."

If you look closely, you can see names etched in the wood railings. Have you ever carved your name on a tree? I've posted a YouTube music video and  I was wondering, are you familiar with the song?

Lyrics: Get Here (If You Can)

You can reach me by railway
You can reach me by trailway
You can reach me on an airplane
You can reach me with your mind

You can reach me by a caravan
Cross the desert like an Arab man
I don't care how you get here
Get here if you can

You can reach me by sailboat
Climb a tree and swing rope to rope
Take a sled and slide down the slope
Into these arms of mine

You can jump on a speedy colt
Cross the border in a blaze of hope
I don't care how you get here
Get here if you can

There are hills and mountains between us
Always something to get over
If I had my way, surely you would be closer
I need you closer

You can windsurf into my life
Take me up on a carpet ride
You can make it in a big balloon
But you better make it soon

You can reach me by caravan
Cross the desert like an Arab man
I don't care how you get here
Get here if you can

I don't care, I don't care
I need you right here, right now
I need you right here, right now, right by my side
Yeah yeah, yeah yeah

Yeah yeah, oh
I don't care how you get here
Get here if you can

Here I can see both colored bikes from the original photo.

Even though the red color is predominant, I can still see the blue colored bike as well.

Same photo as above but with a paint texture and hard light effect to produce a dominant orange color.

A Bug's Life

One of the Sunday School rooms has a bug theme on the wall. I love the artwork in this classroom.

Bugs on the wall

The painted blue sky with puffy white clouds adds a cute dimension. I read somewhere that if you paint the ceiling the same color as the wall, visually you create a larger room. I like the idea.

Our church was so fortunate to hire a professional artist, Anna Parker who paints beautiful murals. For more information, visit her website http://muralistsandiego.com/

This is such a happy bug! So cute and inspiring artwork on the wall, for the children to learn new things. Back in 2010 I wrote a post, Green Elephants Garden Sculptures and really didn't know what I was doing on blogger. My photos were so small and yet it was these particular garden sculptures that were often pinned on Pinterest from my blog.

By the way, you may want to stop by Lori's blog (our hostess) and wish her an early "Happy B'day"!

I have fond memories of my son at an early age, and now my 4 grandsons collecting bugs... yes, and eating them, too! Is it the same with you?

Day At La Jolla Cove

Towards the end of our Christmas break, my husband and I ventured south to La Jolla, California. It was at the La Jolla Cove where we spotted the many kayakers (one in blue) with their hats, jackets and these two ladies swimming without a wet suit, using the blue fins. I love the different shades of blue in the water from our beautiful Pacific Ocean. Do you have coves, caves or lifeguard towers nearby?
