My brother-in-law is a pilot. I remember when he first got his license, we went up for a ride. As the wind currents were very strong that day, the plane began to rock n' roll! He said, "No problem. I have everything under control." I knew he was sweating it and the landing was a bit rocky. All in all, I was indeed thankful for the experience, including a safe landing, but vowed not to go up again with a new pilot!

Citrus Label Collection |
Our library displayed a collection of citrus labels. I took these two photos through framed glass. The reflection is challenging for photography but I enjoyed seeing so many lovely labels.

I am not real fond of regular planes, but I certainly do not like the small ones.

I'll head on over...
DeleteMy husband is a private pilot from a long line of private pilots. Our first date in high school was to go up flying. I thought my mother was going to have a heart attack! We've had many, many flights in the ensuing 37 years but I can still be a bit of a "white knuckle" flier when we're over mountains. Thanks for sharing that book, I think my grandson needs to have it!

Sounds like wonderful memories! Thanks for following. I'll follow back!
DeleteI just read your profile - I am a music teacher for first grade students in our local elementary school district! I feel the same way about the importance of music education and I also love children's books! Some of my heroes are Charlotte Diamond, Red Grammer and Tom Chapin. They "get" the kids!

Love Charlotte Diamond and often use her books! Seems to me, we have lots in common!
