Kindergarten Music: Servant of All

Sunday School Music: Servant of All

We introduced a new song to the Kindergarten class, along with the 2's and 3's yesterday. Needless to say, the song was a hit. It was easy for the children to hold one finger up for the word, "first" and then use both hands to make a zero for the word, "last." When we got to the chorus, everyone just started jumping!! It's so rewarding to see seeds being planted in young ones hearts and minds.

Here's the original chord chart but we found it easier to play the song in the Key of C.

Servant of All (Mark 9:35)

 B             E/B             B         B                 F#    B
If anyone wants to be first he must be the very last.
 B              E/B            B         B                 F#    B
If anyone wants to be first he must be the very last.

Chorus
               F#  E        B
And the servant of all, that's right
                     F#  E        B
You know, a servant of all, that's right
                   F#  E       B
Uh-huh, a servant of all, that's right
                      F#  E        B
You know, a servant of all _______

Vamp

Serving in Your Church Nursery (Zondervan Practical Ministry Guides)

I think this is a powerful song to encourage us to think about others needs and how we can encourage, inspire and build up others. Some churches and organizations have huge ministry outreaches in cleaning up schools and beautifying the land. Others take care of the elderly, while many ministry leaders serve in their church.

We like singing and playing rhythm instruments with the children.

Have you found serving rewarding and if so, in what way?

Sunday School: Peace Like A River

Sunday School: I've Got Peace Like A River

We brought an old song with us to the Sunday School Classroom today, I've Got Peace Like A River. The children loved singing the words while my husband played his guitar. My part was to do the hand gestures with the kids and it went real well. Actually, a piece of cake for them. They are all so cute.

If you're not familiar with the hand motions, here's a video of the one we like to do. This morning we did 5 songs in a row and it was awesome. Do you have a favorite Sunday school song?
